War declared 8/12/1941

The Battalion arrived in Singapore on 15/8/1941, on board the Johan Van Oldenbarnevelt. They then continued their training at various camps in Singapore and Malaya.

Some Reinforcements, and members who transferred into and out of the Battalion, sailed to Singapore on other Convoys.

Their training days were over when Japan entered the War on 8th December 1941.
