Arrived Melbourne 28/3/1942

A number of injured soldiers were evacuated from Singapore by Hospital Ship on 10 and 11/2/1942. They headed to Batavia, where they boarded other Hospital Ships for the trip to Colombo.

On arrival in Ceylon, they were transferred to 12 AGH, where they spent their time recovering. They remained there until suitable transport was available to transport them back to Australia.

Stirling Castle departed Colombo on Saturday 14/3/1942, with approximately 800 troops on board, and sailed direct to Melbourne, where she arrived on 28/3/1942.
