Tank trap

A concrete cylinder used in the road block. This was found in 2003, 61 years after the event. It is the same as several others recovered from the area, and relocated to the Gemas memorial at 2/17 Battalion, Royal NSW Regiment Depot, 2 Suakin St., Pymble.

Gemas road block

The road block was located in the cutting between the trees in the far distance.

Battalion HQ was sited beside the creek in the left foreground; "A" and "D" Company were on the left of the road, near where the large truck is, and "C" Company was on the right.
