Six members of "B" Company became separated from the Battalion following the ambush at Gemencheh Bridge on 14/1/1942. They were eventually captured by the Japanese near Kepong on 31/1/1942 and transferred to Muar.

They were tied together and shot by the Japanese. Four of them died. The other two men were taken to Pudu Gaol, but Pte. Ernest SAMS died of his wounds on 9/2/1942. Pte. Terrence TREVOR survived and he was later sent to Thailand on "F" Force.
