Association
Present: Lt.
Col. F.G. Galleghan D.S.O., E.D., Maj. N. McG. Johnston, Lieut. J. Cooper, Sgts. Eather, Garner,
Rickwood, Blow, O'Donnell, Ellis, Cpls. Hall, Jackson, Evans.
Business Letter received by Sergeant Ellis from Captain Jones at Kranji was read to the meeting. He advised having received $70 and that he had made payments to the men bringing their pay up to $3.50. He also enclosed pay sheets signed by men receiving money. A further $19 will be required to enable pay to be made up to $4 at Kranji. It was resolved that all monies surplus to monthly commitments of the fund be sent to Kranji each month to be used for the purchase of extra foodstuffs for men of the unit. It was decided that the Battalion Anniversary celebrations be left to unit to arrange. Unfortunately permission could not be obtained to hold an organised celebration.
