Limb Factory, Changi
A letter to NX77712 - Pte. Leslie David (Les) MELROSE, from another member of the Artificial Limb Factory, Changi.

"20 May 44

Dear Melrose,

Now that the AIF. Artificial Limb Factory is, through force of circumstances closing down and the personnel are returning to their units I want to personally thank you for all your help and co-operation during the past fifteen months. The standard of your wood carving, with such improvised tools, has always been excellent and many of the limbless A.I.F. soldiers have spoken to me of your work.

Thanks very much – Good Luck & if the opportunity should rise again during P.W. days ? having work for you to do I’ll certainly be seeking your services.

Yours sincerely,

AAMC ? White Lt. Col."
