MOORE, 2/26TH INFANTRY BATTALION (RIGHT), BOTH 8TH DIVISION EX-PRISONERS OF WAR OF THE JAPANESE, WITH MAJOR E. D. O'ROURKE, 10TH MILITARY HISTORY TEAM, AUSTRALIAN MILITARY HISTORY SECTION (CENTRE), ON THE GEMENCHEH RIVER BRIDGE, WHERE ON 14 JANUARY 1942 TROOPS OF THE 2/30TH INFANTRY BATTALION, WITH NO. 30 BATTERY, 2/15TH FIELD REGIMENT, AND THE 4TH ANTI-TANK REGIMENT KILLED SOME 600 JAPANESE SOLDIERS DURING AN ENGAGEMENT.
