Physical description: Felt; Pair of colour patches for 2/30 Battalion. Grey oval patch with a vertically aligned rectangle sewn in the centre. The rectangle is divided into purple and gold halves.
Summary: Associated with NX3971 G C Quinn who served with the 2/30 Battalion. Quinn was captured by the Japanese after the fall of Singapore and became a prisoner of war, first in Thailand and then in Japan. During his internment it was necessary to amputate one of his legs. He was possibly also known as Reginald George Quinton.

Right leg amputated below knee, 7/7/1944; recovered from Japanese in Thailand on 20/8/1945; emplaned Singapore on 6/10/1945 for return to Australia; arrived Melbourne 8/10/1945; then by train to Sydney, arrived 9/10/1945
