• Ceremony begins at 11am (please arrive by 10:45am)

• The memorial ceremony for the 83nd anniversary of the Battle of Gemas, will be held on Sunday January 14 from 11am at Suakin Barracks, Suakin Street. Pymble. NSW.

• The program for the day is TO BE CONFIRMED and we would ask all attendees to bring a plate of sandwiches or cakes or quiche or biscuits/cheese. Nothing that needs heating up, as we will not have the facility to do that at the barracks on the day.

• Our guest speaker will be - TO BE ADVISED

Where is it held?

• 2/17 Battalion, Royal NSW Regiment Depot (Suakin Barracks), 2 Suakin Street, Pymble

• From Ryde Road, turn left into West Street, continue straight ahead into Suakin Street, and go to top of the rise.

• Please park in the area indicated by the 2/17 Bn. Guides on duty.

Why is it important?

• The next Gemas Day ceremony will commemorate the 83rd anninversary of the ambush at Gemencheh Bridge on 14 January 1942 and the action near Gemas the following day
