Garrison Church, 66 Lower Fort Street, Miller's
Remembrance Day, 2019
Since the recent
dissolution of the 2/15th Field Regiment
Association, members have met at the Garrison
Church, 66 Lower Fort St, Miller’s Point, for
the 9.30 Service to commemorate Remembrance Day.
It takes place on the nearest Sunday to 11/11
and this year it will be Sun. 10th.
Garrison (formal name The Holy Trinity Church)
is a heritage-listed beautiful church built in
1840 as Australia’s first military church and
features Regimental plaques throughout the
church including those of 2/15th and 2/30th. It
is a fitting place to honour our Vets. Street
parking is available (about $3 per hour).
Service, the local parishioners invite us to
join them in morning tea on the front lawn. They
are very welcoming and we usually chat with them
until 11.45a.m. We then move over to No. 81 to
the Hero of Waterloo Hotel for a very informal
lunch. There is a dining area and the Hotel
provides one long table to accommodate us .The
menu is varied and prices range from $18 00 to
$34.50. At the end of the meal a basket is
passed around and each person puts in the cost
of their choice. (Cash would assist). Drinks are
paid for individually.
notice of intention to attend would be
appreciated. Please ring Ray Stanborough on 9365
