Business
Letter received from Lieutenant Donohoe was read to the meeting. In his letter he asked that the Central Executive Committee consider the question of inviting members of the 27th Brigade H.Q. residing in New South Wales to become Associate members of our Association, with right of subscription and full participation in welfare. The matter was discussed by members but it was felt that the idea should be extended to embrace a reciprocal arrangement between all of the Associations in the 27th Brigade. Suggested by Col. Galleghan that the move offering Associate membership to other Battalion Associations in this Brigade should come from us as we are really the parent Association. It was resolved that the President and Secretary contact similar office bearers in all other Associations in the 27th Brigade with a view of fully investigating the question of reciprocity between Associations in this 27th Brigade.

The financial statement of the Hospital Fund was read to the meeting and disclosed the balance of $224 in hand. In view of this favourable balance and the impossibility of purchasing foodstuffs for hospital patients it was resolved that the balance be used to make up the pay of sick men in lines and Kranji to $5 per month, in lieu of $4 as previously. This rate of $5 to be maintained until surplus is absorbed. The question to be then reviewed.

Approval was given to a grant of $12 being made to Pt. McKenzie, a limbless member of this unit, to purchase some aluminium to have a peg leg made for himself at the Artificial Leg Factory. The factory was unable to make a leg volume previously owing to lack of material.
Meeting closed at 1215 hours.

C.S. O'Donnell
Secretary
