Information: Reinforcements 2/26 Bn, KiA Tanglin; Report (not confirmed) by QX13055 - BARKLE, C.H., Pte. HQ 27 Bde that on 13/2/1942, he and Phillips were sent to Battalion at Mandai, lost their way and went to 2/29 Bn. Reported to Officer thought to be Signals Officer near Tanglin. Phillips killed next day by shell fire. Buried by 2/29 Bn. at 11A Holland Road Singapore; reburied in Kranji Cemetery, 2/5/1963; further details in Makan 247, May/June, 1979; DVA Nominal Roll shows Unit on death as 2/20 Bn
