Information: Transferred to 8 ITB, Dubbo on 22/5/1941; embarked for Middle East on Convoy US11A on 27/6/1941; taken on strength with 2/33 Bn on 24/10/1941; returned to Australia on 10/3/1942; embarked at Brisbane for New Guinea on 31/8/1942; disembarked Port Moresby on 9/9/1942; returned to Australia and disembarked Brisbane on 8/1/1943; embarked at Townsville per HMS Katoomba on 23/7/1943; disembarked Port Moresby on 26/7/1943; accidentally injured (burns) at Jacksons Drome, on 7/9/1943, when a US plane, loaded with bombs and petrol, crashed on take off; Pte. CAFE was preparing to emplane for an operational area; he was admitted to 2/9 AGH for treatment, but died of his injuries on 19/9/1943; he was buried at Bomana War Cemetery, Port Moresby on 20/9/1943
